Senadee?

SenadeeBeing a big fan of anything to do with Trance/Electro/House etc, I've been following major releases recently and something in particular caught my ear on ASOT (A show presented byArmin Van Buuren who is, arguably, the biggest DJ around) a few months back.

After a few enquiries, I learnt the track in question was called 'Say The Word' on a label called flux delux... The song is actually a sample of a guitar/indie/rock tune called 'My Fault'. The artist goes by the name of Senadee. Now, being the curious type, I googled the singer and stumbled across his myspace page.

I have to say, it was 'pleasantly weird' to hear the original in it's actual intended version, but after a few listens, I'm actually in love with the song. It's pretty awesome and Senadee's vocals are just stunning!

Anyways, just thought I'd put the word out there, obviously working in the industry, it's my job to prop upcoming artists, and in my opinion very few are more deserving of attention than this guy!!! Check him out on www.senadee.com

Review excerpt from datatransmission.co.uk:

"....Onto this release and the inclusion of the workings of 'Senadee' is a refreshing change for a label that is hesitant to say the least about vocal tracks. However on first listen the original grabs you with it's vocal that sways around causing the record to take on a whole different feel to anything previous. With the uber tight arrangement, production and melodies of Mr Gold and the very obvious talent of Senadee the original is a rip roarer of a vocal destroyer that is being battered all over the shop I'm sure..." 9/10

Radiohead to record new material soon?!?!

Radiohead are to enter the studio to work on new material with producer Nigel Godrich.

Bassist Colin Greenwood confirmed that the band had booked studio time, but didn't elaborate on how far they are down the creative process.

Speaking to Pitchforkmedia.com, Greenwood said: "We're actually gonna be working with Nigel again soon we've reserved time and we've got stuff we want to do.

"It's like having an old-school executive producer that's talking about the big picture and booking time to be creative."

Supergrass Review

I just wanted to re-print this article in the NME the other day. It's a review of Supergrass's new album ' Diamond Hoo Haa Men'. God bless you boys!! Love ya! xxxx

You never would have expected Supergrass to grow like they have. Compared to, say, fellow Oxford boys Radiohead, whose ‘The Bends’ was released the same year as Supergrass’ debut ‘I Should Coco’, pop-punk scraps like ‘Caught By The Fuzz’ seemed doomed to flare up and then fizzle out.

Yet, 13 years on, they’re flourishing. 2005’s ‘Road To Rouen’ – a bleak, bare record – found new depth, but at a cost. With band relations under strain, a further blow came when bassist Mick Quinn broke his back sleepwalking out a window. Was it the end of a longer-than-expected run?

Was it hell. Instead, Danny Goffey and Gaz Coombes banged on some silver jumpsuits, renamed themselves the Diamond Hoo Ha Men and rediscovered mischief under the freedom of a silly pseudonym. Playing Michael Jackson covers and some distinctly un-bleak new tracks in the small, sweaty venues they first cut their teeth in certainly helped.

Rejoined by Mick, the single of almost the same name opens their sixth album with a fat riff as Gaz channels some sort of hoodoo playboy travelling salesman, stuffing ladies in his suitcase and crowing “When the sun goes down… I just can’t resist/BITE ME!” If the boys are bringing back the fun, on tracks like ‘345’ it’s clear what new producer Nick Launay has brought; a big, muscular layered sound similar to a late-era White Stripes while the heavy glam of ‘Bad Blood’ even recalls the more playful moments of QOTSA. The sweet ‘Ghost Of A Friend’, meanwhile, proves that they’re still the summer-radio-hit band to beat. Overall, it’s a brash, shiny, confident record, careering along on a second wind, or as one jaunty number puts it, “the return of inspiration”. The ’Grass have bounced back and it’s definitely worth making a hoo-ha over.

Hot Chipssss....

I absolutely adore the band Hot Chip. I'm definitely into my electronic music, I have a massive collection from trance to house and electro... What's this got to do with Hot Chip you ask?? They're not 'that' dancey are they surely??

Recently they received a 4/5 review in crudmusic which was highly deserved obviously...

But I would've upped it to 5/5. No, I never give out full marks that frequently or without good reason. Here are the reasons I believe they should've got 5/5 here, there and in every other publication.

1 - They’ve produced the finest album of electronic rock this side of Daft Punk
2 - They have a sense of humour
3- They don't have a sense of fashion. Or do they? Hmmm.
4- They don't take themselves too seriously
5- They possess dry-wit, inventiveness and musicality far beyond their peers

Awesome band.

They just completely rock. Go and buy their album Made in the dark on EMI, it's Beautiful.

Coldplay - Where are you??

I completely plagiarised this blog from another blog, cos thats what kind of a bitch I am. But I'm a massive Coldplay fan and am dying to get hold of their album.

a) Chris Martin is beautiful.
b) We writes beautiful songs.
c) Theyre just a great example of a band.

Despite frontman Chris Martin saying the fourth Coldplay studio album will not be released until 2008, Amazon.com have set a release date of September 3rd this year on the follow-up to the critically acclaimed X&Y.

The band have been working with producer Brian Eno on putting together material for the new disc.

There has been no word from the band recently that their intended release date might be brought forward. But Maybe Amazon know something the band don't. ???
